FAQs
Opening Times & Visiting

When is Kings Farm Christmas Trees open?
Kings Farm swings open its gates every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10am to 4pm (with an earlier close of 3pm on a Sunday), starting in late November and running through to mid-December—or until we’re sold out of our magical Nordmann Firs! For this year’s exact opening dates, keep an eye on our homepage or follow us on social media.

Where is Kings Farm Christmas Trees located and how do I get there?
Coming from Eye:
Head out of Eye on Cranley Road, following signs towards Cranley Green. Stay on Cranley Road for just under two miles—you’ll pass fields and perhaps a few friendly sheep. Kings Farm Christmas Trees will be clearly signposted on your right. Once you reach us, you'll find our farm up a long driveway. Follow the driveway all the way up, waving to our chickens along the way. Go past the house and follow the driveway to the right to find our Christmas tree barn.
Coming from Redlingfield:
Take Mill Road and continue along to join Cranley Green Road heading towards Eye. Continue for about half a mile—Kings Farm Christmas Trees will soon appear on your left.
Please note: The postcode IP23 7NX only covers part of the route and may not bring you directly to the farm entrance. For the best directions, it’s recommended to search “Kings Farm Christmas Trees” in Google Maps or your preferred navigation app and follow those instructions.

Is there parking available at the farm?
Absolutely—ample space for cars, buggies, and sleighs.
Do you have facilities on site (toilets, cafe, refreshments)?
Yes! We have convenient toilets on site for your comfort. Plus, we’ve partnered with Scot & Folk, a fantastic local coffee horsebox serving delicious seasonal hot chocolates, coffees, and a tempting selection of cakes. It’s the perfect spot to warm up and treat yourself as you browse for your perfect tree. Festive snacks and refreshments are also available to keep you fuelled and festive throughout your visit.

Is the farm wheelchair and pram accessible?
We are pram and wheelchair-friendly in the shop area, making it easy to browse comfortably. Navigating a pram around the outdoor plot can be a bit tricky due to uneven ground, so we recommend wellies or piggy-backs for little adventurers.

Do you allow dogs on site?
Yes, on leads. Please, no canine attempts at marking the display trees!

Are children welcome, and are there activities for families?
We love family visits! Christmas is for everyone, and the more festivity, the better. You might even get lucky and see a bit of snow or meet our newest tractor driver—who’s excited to give kids mini tractor rides around the farm. It’s a fun way to add some extra smiles and make your visit even more memorable!
What should I wear for a visit to Kings Farm Christmas Trees?
Warm layers and a silly Christmas jumper if you please. Wellies are a must if you’re visiting our plot. Bonus points for tinsel.

Choosing & Picking Your Tree

Can I pick directly from your plot?
Absolutely! We’ll guide you just a short, scenic two-minute walk to our tree plot. Once you’ve found your perfect Nordmann Fir, simply tie one of our ribbons to the top to claim it. Then, sit back and relax while our in-house lumberjack expertly chops it down for you—no chainsaw skills required! Please note, there is a £5 cutting charge for trees selected from the plot. If you'd rather take your time, you can also reserve your tree and pick it up on a later date. Making Christmas magical, one tree at a time!

Is it possible to choose and cut my own Christmas tree at your farm?
You’re welcome to pick your perfect tree still in the ground and straight from our plot—but don’t worry, we do the cutting! We don’t want to risk any customer amputations!

What types of Christmas trees do you offer?
We proudly grow only the Nordmann Fir, renowned for its soft needles and legendary ability to hold onto them right through to the Twelfth Night. No more daily hoovering under the tree! We also offer pot-grown trees, perfect for planting later, or renting from us for the Christmas period!

What is the difference between the standard cut and pot-grown Nordmann Fir?
Cut Nordmann Firs are top choice for a classic Christmas centrepiece—just pop them in a stand and enjoy! Our pot-grown trees come with roots, so you can plant out in the garden or rent one and return it for another family to enjoy next year.

What size Christmas trees are available for purchase?
Whether you need a charming little tree perfect for a child's bedroom or an impressive showstopper that might just touch your ceiling, we’ve got you covered. Our trees range from a cozy 3ft all the way up to majestic giants of 12ft!

Can I pre-book or reserve a Christmas tree in advance?
Yes! Secure your perfect Nordmann with a prepayment, so you won't have to worry about missing out or battling the crowds. Trees can be reserved and collected on any of our opening days. We'll ensure your tree is freshly cut the morning of your collection to keep it looking and smelling fresh throughout the Christmas period.

Purchasing & Delivery

Do you offer online ordering for Christmas trees?
We encourage customers to visit and choose their perfect tree in person to ensure it fits just right in that special spot. However, if you can’t make it to the farm, we’re happy to select a beautiful Nordmann Fir for you and prepare it for collection or delivery. You can place your order over the phone or by messaging us through social media or WhatsApp.

How do I order a Christmas tree for home delivery?
Just let us know when you select your tree or order that you’d like home delivery, and we’ll take care of the rest!

What delivery areas do you cover and what are your delivery charges?
We deliver to local postcodes within an 8-mile radius of the farm. Our standard delivery charge is £15. Deliveries are scheduled for a set date in December to ensure your tree arrives fresh and our reindeer don’t get too tired out from all the deliveries!

What payment methods do you accept?
All major payment methods.
Do you sell pot-grown Christmas trees to buy or rent?
Absolutely! We offer beautiful pot-grown Nordmann Firs, ready for a second life in your garden, or rent one for the season and return it after the festivities with a clear eco-conscience.

Do you sell Christmas wreaths, decorations, or festive accessories?
Yes, including hand-decorated wreaths and sparkly festive decorations to make your home merry and bright.

Tree Care & Sustainability

How do I keep my real Nordmann Fir tree fresh and stop it dropping needles?
Nordmann Firs are famous for holding onto their needles, but to keep yours extra happy: water regularly, and keep away from direct heat. Please see our care sheet attached here.

How should I care for a pot-grown Christmas tree?
Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, and avoid placing next to radiators. Afterwards, plant it out for year-round cheer—or return a rented one for its next festive adventure. Please see our care sheet attached here.

Are your Christmas trees locally grown and sustainably sourced?
All our Nordmann Firs are lovingly grown right here on our farm—sustainably managed with new trees planted each Autumn. In fact, for every tree sold, we plant a minimum of three new ones to help nurture the next generation of Christmas trees and support local wildlife.

Can I return my tree for recycling after Christmas?
While we don’t accept trees back at the farm, we’re happy to recommend many local recycling services and convenient drop-off points. These options ensure your tree is responsibly recycled—helping it live on as mulch or habitat rather than ending up as a ghostly tree in the driveway!

What happens to recycled Christmas trees?
They become useful mulch and compost, enriching soil for future generations of trees.
What is the environmental impact of buying a real vs. artificial Christmas tree?
Real, locally grown Nordmanns are renewable, recyclable, and much more environmentally friendly than imported plastic imitations that linger for centuries. Plus, we replant at least 3 trees for every tree sold, keeping a healthy store of carbon capture in the ground!
